Shakespeare at Traquair are proud to present "A Midsummer Night’s Dream", a promenade performance in the grounds and gardens of Traquair House, starting 1st June 2005 at 7.30pm.

"I know a bank whereon the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses, and with eglantine:"

Ah! And not so far away, down among the grounds of Traquair House, Innerleithen, where we celebrate 10 years of Shakespeare at Traquair with A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Yes, 10 years since Judy Steel and Richard Nisbet directed the first on that magical journey!!

Come all and join the merry band of mechanicals as they rehearse their play The Most Lamentable Comedy and Most Cruel Death, of Pyramus and Thisby. Will they perform it for Theseus’ marriage to Hyppolita or will the pompous Master Of the Revels, Philostrate have them banned.

Mingle through the forests and see if you can spot any Fairies/Sprites/Elfs/Goblins there. Maybe even an Ass or two!! Will Oberon make up or over with Titania? Will the Lovers find their way out of the woods? Book your tickets well in advance, avoid disappointment.

Performance Dates
Wednesday 1st June to Saturday 4th June and Wednesday 8th June to Saturday 11th June. Start time every evening is 7.30 pm.

Tickets
£8.00 (£6.00 conc). A pre-production supper is available in the 1745 Traquair House restaurant on Friday and Saturday evenings. A two course meal is £12.50 per person and a three course meal is £17.00 per person. There is a complimentary glass of red or white wine, and tea and coffee is extra.
