Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (or is it Guildenstern and Rosencrantz?) have been sent for to "glean" what afflicts Hamlet. Difficult, when they don't know why they're there, where they've come from and ultimately where they're going.
Tom Stoppard, writer of the Oscar-winning Shakespeare in Love, first came to prominence with this humorous take on Hamlet. With its clever intertwining with Shakespeare's Hamlet and the hilarious banter between the two main characters, this is one of Tom Stoppard's most popular plays.
Shakespeare at Traquair performed this play on the 25-26th November 2005 at the Eastgate Theatre, Peebles.
