Shakespeare at Traquair was started in
1995 by Judy Steel and Richard Nisbet. Initially part of a
campaign to open an arts centre in Peebles (since realised
with the opening of the Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre in
March 2004) Shakespeare at Traquair has become an extremely
popular event.

Taking part in the grounds of Scotland's oldest inhabited
house, past promenade productions at Traquair have included:

2003: Much Ado About Nothing
2002: The Taming of the Shrew
2001: Twelfth Night

1997: The Winter's Tale
1995 & 96: A Midsummer Nights Dream
In addition to performing at Traquair House, Shakespeare at
Traquair now perform at the Eastgate Theatre & Arts Centre
in Peebles. Past productions include:
